DESCRIPTION

The active substance of Anafranil is clomipramine that belongs to the group of tricyclic antidepressants. Being a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor it raises the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine&daggerneurotransmitters in the brain by slowing the rate of reabsorption by nerve cells. Anafranil is used to treat depression, especially such syndromes as psychomotor retardation and anxiety. It relieves chronic pain syndromes by improving neurotransmission between the brains neurons. INSTRUCTIONS & DOSAGE

Active substance: clomipramine hydrochloride 25mg

Dosage should be individually adjusted according to the patient's condition. Doses should be kept as low as possible and increased cautiously. The usual initial dose of Anafranil is 25mg 2-3 times per day.

Intramuscular injection: starting dose is 25-50mg/day (1-2 ampoules), the dose is gradually increased in 25mg (1 ampoule) day by day till the maximum 100-150mg/day (4-6 ampoules). After improvement is achieved the number of injections is gradually decreased and replaced with oral doses of Anafranil.

Intravenous drip infusion: starting dose is 50-75mg/day (2-3 ampoules). Infusion duration is 1,5-3 hours.

STORAGE

Store in dry place at room temperature. Do not exceed storage temperature higher than 25 degrees Celcius. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep locked and away from children.
