Daflon is a drug classified as a flavonoid whose ingredients are either a minor product or a secondary metabolite produced by various plants. At the level of effect, Daflon is characterized by phlebotonia, that is, stimulation of venous tone. In particular, its action mainly occurs at the venous level (in this sense it can be called venotonic), although it also has advantages in protecting small blood vessels. It also widely improves blood circulation and prevents aging, stiffness and brittleness through its previous effects.
The flavonoids contained in Daflon, taken by mouth, are metabolized by the intestinal flora and absorbed by the intestinal mucosa, only in this way are they then distributed through the bloodstream. They remain in circulation for about 12 hours and then are excreted in the faeces.
Daflon is a drug that has a vasoprotective and vasotonic effect. These properties have been useful in the treatment of various conditions associated with vascularization, among them the following indications:
Varicose veins are one of the conditions under which many people, especially women, use Daflon.
Hemorrhoids or hemorrhoids, like varicose veins, are inflammation of the veins that irrigate the anus.
Daflon is also used to treat fluid retention by allowing blood to flow through a stronger and more toned vascular system and preventing fluid extravasation, especially if it is of cardiovascular origin.
One of the vascular diseases that Daflon treats is chronic venous insufficiency.
Conditions associated with vascular risk: hypertension, diabetes and eye problems.
Although it is not really a drug used to control blood pressure or other pathologies, it has been observed that its use by strengthening and elasticity of the vascular system can be very useful in preventing leakage or complications in various pathological conditions such as diabetes or problems with eyes, as well as in cases of high blood pressure.
People who are allergic to the formulation should not take this drug. In addition, children's age is also a limitation to the appointment of this drug.
The use of Daflon can cause changes and digestive problems such as nausea and pain in the intestines and stomach, as well as colitis. Another possible side effect is a rash, itching, and even in rare cases of Quincke's edema (in which the tissues of the face or facial organs become inflamed, making it difficult to breathe and feed). Sometimes headaches, dizziness and discomfort come to light.
The combined use of Daflon and alcohol is contraindicated, as it can cause digestive problems. At the dietary level, consuming alkaline foods and consuming antacids is contraindicated.
It is necessary to take the drug 2 tablets a day (1 at noon and 1 in the evening) with meals.
