MEXIDOL® (Emoxipine, Emoxypin, Epigid) is an antioxidant with antihypoxic, membranoprotective, nootropic, anticonvulsant and anxiolytic effects. Mexidol provides a wide range of actions: increases the body's resistance to stress and to the effects of damaging factors to oxygen dependent pathological conditions improves cerebral metabolism, blood flow and microcirculation in the brain stabilizes the membrane structure of red blood cells during hemolysis, has hypolipidemic effect and reduces total cholesterol. Mexidol restores metabolic processes in the ischemic myocardium, reduces the zone of necrosis. DESCRIPTION

Mexidol is classified as an antihypoxant and antioxidant. It works by inhibiting lipid peroxidation, increasing the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), reducing the viscosity of the membrane and, thus, increasing its fluidity, stabilizes cell membranes, improves microcirculation and blood rheology, reduces platelet aggregation, reduces the total cholesterol level and low density lipoprotein. Mexidol maintains the structural and functional organization of biological membranes, transport of neurotransmitters and improves synaptic transmission. It increases the level of dopamine in the brain.

PACKAGING & DOSAGE

Dose: 125-250mg 3 times a day. Maximum daily does is 750mg (6 tablets).

Period of therapy is 2-6 weeks.

Period of therapy for alcohol abstinence treatment is 5-7 days. The treatment is discontinued gradually, decreasing the dose during 2-3 days.
