PREDISIN® (Vastarel MR, Trimetazidine) is a clinically effective antianginal and anti-ischemic agent that is used to treat coronary heart disease, chorioretinal circulatory disorders with ischemic component, tinnitus and dizziness. Besides providing relief and functional improvement in angina pectoris, it has a cytoprotective action during ischemia by maintaining cellular homeostasis. Predisin provides antihypoxic action, improves metabolizm and the functions of cardiomyocytes and neurons, supports myocardial contractility. It has no negative inotropic or vasodilator properties.

DESCRIPTION

The active substance of Predisin is trimetazidine - an antianginal and anti-ischemic agent. It influences directly on cardiomyocytes and neurons of the brain and improves their metabolism and functional activity. Cytoprotective effect of trimetazidine is determined by increasing of energetic potential, catalyzing the oxidative decarboxylation and optimizing of oxygen consumption. It supports myocardial contractility, prevents adenosine triphosphate and phosphocreatine depletion. Predisin reduces damaging effect of free-radicals, protects cell-membranes, reduces the activity of neutrophils in the ischemic zone. Treatment by Predisin lowers the frequency of attacks in inschemia, reduces variations in blood pressure.

INSTRUCTIONS & DOSAGE

Active substance: trimetazidine dihydrochloride 35mg.

Predisin is taken orally with meals. The daily dose is 20mg 2-3 times/day (40-60mg/day).
